All About Jessica Reedy

Fearless. That one adjective captures the essence of Jessica Reedy, a formidable light in a dark room, with the voice of an angel. Jessica has one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary gospel music, an ultra soulful songstress whose voice captivates audiences everywhere. Ever since, the 5’11 gifted singer, actress and songwriter received national exposure in 2009 as the runner up on Season 2 BET’s Sunday Best with her signature deep vocal tone, the Saginaw, Michigan native, who went from singing at her grandfather’s church as a child to stardom has never wavered from delivering a message of hope through music. “I am committed to being used as a vessel to inspire, uplift, and encourage,” says Jessica. “I do not take my gift for granted, and I am so very grateful for every opportunity I am provided to share that God has a plan for your life and it does not include defeat.”

Full of insecurities and much guilt after getting pregnant and dropping out of college and later finding herself on welfare, Jessica rededicated her life to Christ and began her spiritual journey to self discovery and a purposed driven life. Having been raised in a home where domestic violence was present and losing her father at the age of 12 to a fatal gun shot wound, Reedy was familiar with pain, but became determined to overcome as the victor in her and her son’s life. She took a job at an automotive plant and later accepted a job as a technician for AT&T. Always feeling like God had called her to do greater things, Reedy never fully accepted her new job as her career, and was later fired. The same day she was approached by a high school friend to audition for a new show on BET called Sunday Best. Initially she had denied the offer due to her work schedule and the fact that her former 1st soprano voice now produced a tenor toned, but she decided to drive her friends down to the audition and use the trip as a reflective time to figure out the direction of your life.

Once at the audition, Jessica overcame her fears, sang “Running Back to You” and soon would be crowned the Runner-Up. Jessica Reedy has since appeared on shows such as, The BET Awards, BET’s Celebration of Gospel, CBS’s Christmas Special, The Stellar Awards, Bobby Jones Gospel, BET’s 106 and Park, Sheryl Lee Ralph’s “Divas Simply Singing”, TCT Network, TBN, and The Word Network. Singing along side of chart-toppers like Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, James Fortune and countless others. Jessica has not only received the respect from her fellow musical peers but a worldwide fan base. With her freshman album “From the Heart” debuting #1 on the Billboard Charts, and on iTunes, Reedy is prepared for the release of her sophomore album entitled “Transparent” under her new independent label, Purity Records. “ When I began writing Transparent, I wrote with love, authority, power, conviction and help from the Lord, says Reedy. Jessica’s current singles are “Better” “Grace” and “Hold On” featuring her mother Mary Reedy. Reedy's second album ,Transparent was released on November 11, 2014. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Gospel Albums Chart. Transparent is now available. Ms Reedy has since then opened a school, The Industry Development Center based in Dallas Texas. The school is geared towards changing the kinds of individuals from the inside out so that they will obtain a mental success as well as professional success.
